This BEAUTIFUL dog is named Azul and he is currently at the Carson shelter in the 3rd building. His ID# is A4307392 and he is extremely shy and scared from whatever he has been through already in his young life. It takes awhile to gain his trust, but after 3 visits he finally felt comfortable enough to stand in front of me and show me he was no longer scared…
He is ABSOLUTELY NOT aggressive, and if/when Carson decides to get around to temp-testing him, that is probably what they will try to claim… They use “shyness” against dogs, they use “uncertainty” against dogs, they use “being frightened” against dogs, and so on and so forth… It’s a mislabeling fiasco over at this shelter–as many of my prior posts have attempted to illustrate–and hopefully we can continue to bring light to these continuous absurdities…
Please share/network the heck out of Azul’s video, because he has VERY limited time there… I have no doubt that the shelter will QUICKLY use his shyness against him and my fear is that they will be ending his life at the first opportunity that presents itself… This is as URGENT of a plea as a plea can be! Going out for 1 very special soul, and praying to God that they don’t extinguish his little light…
He is beautiful. Do you know a little more specific timeframe for this guy? I live in Tempe, AZ and would be willing to make the trip to L.A. if I can find a place for him here. I’m spreading the word.
Thank you for the wonderful work you’re doing!
Lisa
Lisa, the time frame for Azul is most likely very short… Maybe another 24-48 hours if were lucky… If anyone is interested in him I would stress to call the Shelter and at least let them know of your interest via putting an “IP” (Interested Party) on him… The phone numbers are on the video = 310-527-5158 or 310-523-9566
Poor guy looks so scared. What is his estimated age?
I’d say probably around 2… Unfortunately there has been NO KENNEL CARD on Azul’s cage since he has came in (going on over a week now) = another glaring problem that the Carson staff constantly allows to happen
I just called and gave my contact information as an IP. Apparently someone else has expressed an interest in him as well. So I’m 2nd on the list.
I just saw this cry for help ,, I am too far away to help and have NO contacts in that area — but a kind woman named Lisa is on this thread who apparently called the shelter and was “2nd on the list”,, PLEASE Lisa — KEEP CALLING the shelter — don’t let this precious baby fall through the cracks !! God Bless you for being there for him !! I’m praying sweet Carson makes it out alive,,,
Sincerely ~ Ronda
I’ll email Gacey at Carson. She’s the rescue liasion. Might not help but will express our concerns. My first doggy was deemed aggressive and rescue only as well. She had him reevaluated and he passed with a C after failing it the first time. maybe, just maybe she can help. He’s a sweetheart and deserves a chance. As soon as my stupid computer starts working again, I’ll share him.
Absolutely heartbreaking. I wish I had someplace to put the sweet boy. I will share; and also ask for a foster.
I would LOVE to adopt Azul. Unfortunately they don’t like to adopt them out across state lines. I live in Illinois and would take him in a heartbeat. I’ve decided against buying a dog and adopting one instead. I chose the pitbull breed because they are such loving dogs and many people give them a bad name and won’t adopt them because of how others have raised them.
Sorry for my ignorance… What is an IP, Lisa? I just want to make sure I follow correctly. Thank you.
Shared, and praying that Azul does find a home worthy of his companionship.
I wish we could save ’em all… :'(
Andrea, I sent you a request on Facebook.
Petra, An “IP” stands for “Interested Party”
Thanks everyone for continuing the network him!
We are looking for a dog to adopt I would like some more info if someone could please get back to me I’m living in alaska not to far from cali Our family dog ( a pit) that we had for 12 years had to be put down he had cancer we miss him terribly we have all decided that its time for a new dog I’ve decided this time around we will adopt instead of buying a dog being that there are so many pits that need homes hoping to hear from someone soon!
You can from out of state…u just need to arrange transport as quickly as possible…if u offer the shelter the adoption fee and boarding simetimes as they say money talks…so if ur interested dont hesitate to call the shelter and offer them money…sometimesit helps and it may buy u some time to arrange transport
Andrea & Pattie, I just emailed you both.
Please tell me this guy got a home?
Josh, are there any updates about Azul?
Azul is safe as of a few hours ago!!! He now has a CTA placed on his file and is scheduled to be neutered (hopefully 2morro) ~ Thank you all who networked him and followed his story, it is massively appreciated by me.
Josh, Please let us know when Azul is actually out of the shelter, so we can celebrate. A happy tail pic would be great! Thanks
Azul is being picked up from the Shelter today! I will post pictures when I get some 🙂
