Another asinine Steve Madison claim, this time about medical professionals

stevemadison3

In the above image not only is Steve Madison using unverified and bias “statistics” from Pit Bull hate group DogsBite.org (the claim of 27 Pit Bulls causing human deaths is totally erroneous, considering 17 incidents didn’t even have images of the offending dogs), but he continues to latch onto, and then promote, all-encompassing language that supports his banning and vilification agenda. Just yesterday he repeated a singular claim about all medical professionals. Do you see the trend here? All Pit Bulls are vicious, bred to kill, dangerous. All doctors and surgeons would never own a Pit Bull. All, all, all. Broad strokes folks!

The man that Madison references, an alleged doctor, apparently went up to speak while we were all out in the hallway during the last Council meeting. I’m not sure how, as public comments for items not on the agenda had been closed, but sure enough he ended up on the microphone anyway. And sure enough, he went ahead and took the liberty of speaking for every medical professional in the country. Madison, as expected, ate it up, and as you can clearly see has been starting to reference this claim as though it is verifiable fact.

This is of course a complete joke, as countless doctors, nurses, surgeons across the country own Pit Bulls as pets. But since they can’t show up to Pasadena to speak before our beloved god it must not be a fact that he can accept. There’s quite a big difference in stating the obvious, which is that people have differing opinions and differing dogs, and taking the liberty of speaking for everyone and thus holding up this baseless and off-the-cuff opinion as truth.

Below is a letter from Barbara Telesmanic, registered nurse and co-founder of SoCal Pitbull TEAM. She is also the owner of a therapy Pit Bull named “Buddy” that routinely visited the children’s hospital…

But you see, she doesn’t exist, and neither does any other nurse, doctor or surgeon who would state otherwise to his embraced belief. Good grief.

Board-certified Anesthesiologist here, and own two pit-bull mixed rescues. I know others as well.

I wonder if he will next claim that all medical professionals especially ER doctors will never drive in cars either because I bet they see a lot of traffic accidents. What an idiot. I’m also a medical professional and am currently sitting on my couch next to my therapy dog certified pit bull. I am an emergency room veterinarian and see a lot of dog bites….doesn’t mean I’m not going to own a dog…..

I am a physical therapist assistant and EMT. I volunteer at an animal shelter and for MA Animal Coalition where we deal with quite a few pitties. Although my apartment discriminates, I am a huge pit bull advocate and one day, will have pit bulls. They are one of my two favorite breeds. ♥

All this is breaks down to is discrimination and ignorance. The fact that the media has turned people beliefs of pitbulls as fear and hatred is really sad considering that these are people who have never been around the breed or have no actual experience with a pitbull. This is complete brainwashing and we need to be the voice of hope for these poor abused babies. Most loyal loving people pleasing brreds of dogs hands down. I own two and they have playdates with a group of other pits who all get along perfectly and love to go to the dogpark to play witg other dogs. This discrimination and hate need to end now.

Odd. I read an article and unfortunately I can’t find it so you’ll have to take my word, about an ER doctor who said that almost all of his dog bite cases are in fact not pit bulls. So this tells him a story about the breed. He said that he once believed the media reports but now knows through his own experience that this is not the case at all. Just saying. BTW, Colleen is an idiot. IMO

Proud owner of three pit bulls and in the medical field! But I guess I don’t exist.

  6. Jennifer says:

I’m a board certified preventive medicine physician and I have a pit bull mix who has stolen my heart and inspired me to work in rescue and advocate on the behalf of these lovely animals. Please don’t speak for me if you don’t know me.

I wonder how many people were killed by humans last year. We should outlaw them, too.

Slightly off topic and maybe a lilly silly, but: The extremely popular TV show, “Big Bang Theory”, takes place in Pasadena, CA. One of the main characters, Penny, is played by Kaley Cuoco who is a pit bull owner and advocate. I wonder if we could convince her to say a few words on behalf of the pitties in Pasadena. 🙂
